Dannika Anstead

I've been drawing since I was very little. My earliest memory was trying to see how many wonky, circular stick figures I fit on the biggest piece of paper I had ever seen! I have been drawing ever since. From creating all the different types of dresses I could imagine, to My Little Pony: Equestria Girls characters, to other cartoon characters, and most recently birds, I have persisted 

I am mostly self-taught as an artist from crayons and pencils to watercolors and acrylics. While I have taken a few different classes over the years, I've mainly relied on analyzing different anatomies as well as looking and seeing what works and what doesn't work for the artists I look up to and find inspiration in. 

In addition to all the amazing artists in the world -- past, present, and future -- I also find myself drawing endless inspiration from the world around us. Over the years I have found myself enthralled by the sciences just as much as the arts. Subjects such as astronomy and physics, marine biology, ornithology, volcanology, and archeology are just to name a few of the many -ology's I find interest in. I love learning about how the world works and about the things taking residence both above and below the surface. I also have a deep love of the stars and of our ever expanding universe.
